Not my first time to St. Simons Island, however do not get opportunity to visit often (though only traveling from Florida). However, spent most of the day sightseeing the island, and visited local museum: St Simon's Island Lighthouse and museum ((highly recommend by the way)). Was wanting a cold treat, and person I was with, asked if wanted ice cream. (Yes please!). Wanted to look for something local, and thought would give "Moo Cow Ice Cream" a try. Was very pleased with service, as well as how great ice cream / products were. I don't remember his name, but young adult who was very helpful, and seemed like great young man. The two of us asked what he recommended, and gave 2 or 3 suggestions. I went with one scoop Key lime and one scoop of one of their popular chocolate (triple chocolate or something?) But was delicious! Unfortunately no room inside to sit down establishment, but plenty of outdoor seating (with umbrellas or shaded areas also). Parking was somewhat difficult, maybe about 5 or 10 spots? But am sure most locals can possibly walk or ride a bicycle or moped / scooter. All in all, thank you for great service and experience! Look forward to coming back hopefully soon

This is one of the best ice cream places I've been to. The diverse and interesting array of flavors, from Banana Cream Pie to Buttered Pecans, makes Moo Cow an highly appealing shop to visit. I got the Buttered Pecan, and it was exceptional. Would highly recommend to anyone in the St. Simons area.

My review started as a one because of that obnoxious chalk board with blurred flavors that you can't read. But even Tom Brady had a few horrible 1st halfs and came back to win. So did Moo Cow with these Blues Brothers like Gen Zers who whipped our 3 cones together after the "green light" in like under a minute and with a really polite attitude coming back in the 4th quarter to win with 5 stars. Good work gentlemen. As ARNOLD would say: I'll be Back!

Moo Cow is a must-stop on St. Simons Island! The ice cream is incredible—honestly, there isn’t a flavor you won’t like. Fun vibe and friendly staff make it even better. The shop is tiny inside, so be sure to wait until the entrance light turns green before going in. Perfect after the beach or a walk through the village. We’ll definitely be back!

We are always looking for places that make their own ice cream when we travel. Home made flavors are by register, we decided to try mint chocolate chip and vanilla cherry and those two were not ones made directly by them but they were DELICIOUS! We are not local but hope to be back!

Right next door to the best fried chicken and shrimp place on St. Simon's Island is a cute and quaint ice cream shop named Moo Cows ice cream. Situated in an old-school filling station and garage, Moo Cows serves up some tasty cold cream flavors from Hershey's with a few of their own home churned concoctions. The Salty Turtle was my flavor of choice, and it really hit the spot to put out the fire of the hot shrimp Po Boy sandwich I just had. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I recently visited Moo Cow Ice Cream on St. Simons Island, and it was a delightful experience all around. The customer service was top-notch— the staff was friendly, patient, and eager to offer samples and recommendations, making us feel right at home in their quirky, retro gas station setup. Their chocolate ice cream is rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of deep cocoa flavor that’s not overly sweet and totally kid approved. Equally impressive was the cinnamon ice cream; it had warm, spicy notes reminiscent of fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, swirled with just the right amount of sweetness for a cozy, comforting treat. They offer Doggie Nice-cream and house-made dog biscuits, my friend’s pup absolutely loved. Overall, Moo Cow is a must-visit for ice cream lovers (and their dogs!) on the island—5 stars!
